2018 Joint Meeting Winner!

More than 150 men and women participated in our second annual joint meeting between 100+ Women Who Care and 100 Men on a Mission on February 13, 2018!

And the winner is…

Iowa Correctional Institution for Women (ICIW)
The ICIW was selected as our winter meeting charity of choice. The Iowa Correctional Institution for Women is a medium/minimum security prison in Mitchellville, ~17 miles east of Des Moines. Your donations will go towards an outdoor space for inmates’ families and visitors. The green space will include:

  • Flowering and vegetable gardens
  • Water feature
  • Secure wall feat. a mural done by children
  • Playground equipment perfect for play by kids visiting their mothers

4:45 p.m. – Social time
5:30 p.m. – Welcome and ice breaker led by 100 Men on a Mission
5:45 p.m. – Presentations begin
6:30 p.m. – Conclusion

Last year, at our first-ever joint meeting, 100+ Women and 100 Men members came together to raise $24,411.70 for Dorothy’s House!

Please join us this year as we hope to reach our goal of a generous $25,000 to be awarded to the selected organization!

Joint Meeting FAQs

Q: How do presentations differ at the Joint Meeting?
A: Two men and two women (each members of their respective organization) present for 5 minutes followed by 5 minutes of audience questions.

Q: Should I come hungry?
A: Appetizers will be provided as well as a complimentary beverage (or two?!). All are encouraged to enjoy dinner or drinks before or after the event at the fabulous Johnny’s Italian Steakhouse! Johnny’s is accepting reservations at this time.

Q: Can I bring a guest?
A: Absolutely! Only members are asked to make their quarterly contribution of $50 or $100 at each meeting. Guests can become a member at any meeting.

Q: How can I get to the meeting?
A: Please enter the restaurant from the Eastside doors and turn left once in the building to head to our meeting area in the Holiday Inn.

Q: Why should I attend the meeting?
A: Help celebrate and support the Greater Des Moines community with new friends and old!
