Welcome to 100+ Women Who Care Des Moines!
The concept is simple. We a group of women from the Des Moines metro who are passionate about supporting local causes. Our purpose is to bring together 100+ women each quarter to contribute $50-$100 to the chosen nonprofits. The result? $40,000+ annually to local charities!
You’re might be wondering how we chose the nonprofits. That’s the best part! Each quarter three members (women like you!) make presentations on behalf of a charity close to their heart. They may be an employee, volunteer, board member or just a supporter of the cause they’re presenting one. After the presentations, we all vote. Majority rules, and as a member you pledge to donate to the awarded organization. Nonprofits who are not selected are welcome to try again at the next meeting!
We are a chapter of the 100 Who Care Alliance. The grassroots nature of the Alliance allows our Des Moines chapter to operate independently in order to best meet a current need in our community. We are a volunteer-run group. We have no bank account, no operating budget, no employees. 100% of member donations go directly to the nonprofits who are impacting local communities.
“Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.” – Helen Keller. That’s how we feel about philanthropy.
